ZombieMutex / Privacy first

Privacy & analytics

This is a personal blog and portfolio, not a data brokerage or advertising platform. Here's what the site does, what it doesn't, and how optional measurement works.

Privacy settings

Checking your browser settings…

Optional Google Analytics is off until you explicitly allow it. This preference is saved only in this browser. A Global Privacy Control signal overrides an earlier opt-in while it is enabled. No account is required.

What is processed

The site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. As with other websites, hosting and network services may process requests, IP addresses, and basic connection information to serve content and protect the service. Those operational records are not the same as optional Google Analytics.

Interactive labs and personal reading preferences generally work in your browser. Some features use local storage for progress or preferences; these are not advertising identifiers. The search interface, site command palette, frog collectibles, and demo tools do not need a visitor account.

If enabled by the site owner, Google Analytics loads only after explicit opt-in and only when the browser is not signaling Global Privacy Control (GPC). Without opt-in, the analytics script is not requested by this site's code. GPC is treated as a request not to share or sell personal information, and the optional analytics feature is disabled whenever the signal is present.

The optional public forum uses GitHub Discussions. Public posts, GitHub identities and moderation are handled by GitHub, not stored in a ZombieMutex user database. Comment embeds are provided by giscus, which is not loaded until you click to open public comments. Doing so contacts giscus and GitHub and may send connection information and page context to those services. Visiting the forum or reading an article alone does not trigger the giscus script.

The optional Spotify listening card shows playback metadata only if I enable public sharing. The /api/spotify endpoint may show what I am playing or the most recently played track. This is intentionally public once connected. The site keeps my Spotify OAuth tokens server-side and never asks readers to sign in or control playback.

External links, embedded external services, and platforms you navigate to have their own privacy practices. This website does not control their policies. No privacy setting here is a promise to prevent normal network processing by your browser or hosting provider.

To change a previous opt-in, use the controls above. You can also clear browser storage to remove local preferences. For site questions, use the contact page.
