No personal mobile engineering stories have been published in this collection yet. This section automatically fills with my own approved posts, notes, recipes, or build logs as I add them.

Code samples

Small educational examples, not customer code or claims of deployed robotics, firmware, or backend systems. Open any sample for its checks, source references, and limitations.

Swift / Reference example

Observe cancellation inside a Swift task

Code & checks
func transform(_ items: [String]) async throws -> [String] {
    var output: [String] = []
    output.reserveCapacity(items.count)
    for item in items {
        try Task.checkCancellation()
        output.append(item.trimmingCharacters(in: .whitespacesAndNewlines))
    }
    return output
}

Stop a loop cooperatively; cancellation is not remote transaction rollback.

Kotlin / Reference example

Preserve Kotlin coroutine cancellation

Code & checks
import kotlinx.coroutines.currentCoroutineContext
import kotlinx.coroutines.ensureActive

suspend fun summarize(records: List<String>): List<String> {
    val result = mutableListOf<String>()
    for (record in records) {
        currentCoroutineContext().ensureActive()
        result += record.trim()
    }
    return result
}

Explicitly check coroutine cancellation in a long-running suspend function.
